I know lots of children who love art. I also know lots of children who love to see their name on their favorite things. This clipboard is perfect for on the go art projects. It is a great gift. Just fill the finished clipboard with art essentials and you are good to go. Oh, and I must mention that this is a super easy project too.
For this project, you will need:
- storage clipboard (I purchased mine at the craft store)
- paint markers in misc. colors
- ribbon (and ricrac if you so desire) in misc. colors
1. Write the child's name. I realized to late that I wanted to write Zoe's Art instead of just her name, but I thought it turned out cute just the same.
2. Draw a pretty border around the edges. You might want to wait for your paint to dry before moving on. Some paint pens (like mine) require a second coat to really color the area in.
3. Cut your ribbon to about 5 in. and tie it to the clip alternating the colors as you go.
4. Step back. Take a look and see if it needs something more. I thought the hearts added to it.
There you go. I don't have any little boys to give to, but I think a red, blue or yellow clipboard with a transportation theme (ie. cars, trucks, planes etc.) would be so cute.
I have given this clipboard a couple of times full of all the fixings for a little girl to make her own cards and it was a hit both times.
I love all the ribbon! That is such a clever idea for a girl gift :)
